A Joyful And Timeless Lakeside Wedding
September 12, 2020
I have so much to say about Ashley & Cameron's wedding day, I really don't know where to start! It was beyond beautiful from start to finish and it will forever go down as one of my favourite weddings for so many reasons.
2020 was definitely a different year for everyone, especially couples who planned their wedding and decided to postpone until 2021. Ashley & Cameron's original date was set for May, but they pushed the date back to September wanting to still get married regardless, and I'm so glad they did! I only had 2 weddings this year and this was my last until 2021. I LOVE photographing weddings so I soaked up every second of this day!
It started out with barely any sunshine having just finished raining. I began with photographing the wedding details and couldn't wait to see Ashley in her gorgeous gown! These two rocked their engagement session, so I knew their wedding would have the same outcome, and I was right! The ceremony was held in a clearing in the bush and the flowers that decorated the area were beyond stunning. It was a short but sweet ceremony & when it was announced that Cameron could now kiss his bride, he not only kissed her once, but three times!! He was definitely overjoyed to be married to the love of his life.
The sun eventually came out to brighten the family & bridal party photos and spending some time with Ashley & Cameron for their couples portraits is always fun and they turned out so beautiful - they are both so photogenic!
The reception began with a grand entrance and immediately went into their first dance. The toasts to the bride and groom were both heartfelt and hilarious. Once they were completed, we headed outside for some quick sunset portraits. There wasn't much of a sunset but the glow from golden hour did not disappoint and the images are gorgeous! As soon as we finished, Ashley joined the children for some soccer in her wedding dress which is her favourite sport. So fun!
Following the first dances was the cake cutting and I always love this part of the night, as I'm always curious to see how couples engage in this wedding tradition. I ended the night with some dance party photos but I have to say my favourite parts of the day would have to be when Cameron's Best Man added some flare to a couple of photos, which I have added to this post - one was a surprise during editing. The best though was Ashley's beautiful smile. All throughout the day, her face was beaming with happiness! Just see for yourself. :)
KISS NUMBER ONE...
TWO...
AND THREE.
A perfect ending to a perfect day for this wonderful couple who is so loved by many.
Thank you so much for having me capture this chapter of your life story! Wishing you both all the happiness in the world.
Love,
Michelle
